Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, signed an executive order on Thursday, July 6, reducing the state ministries from 28 to 16.

The Director General of Media and Communication, office of the governor, Malam Nuhu Anka, made the announcement.

Lawal said he embarked on restructuring government ministries and agencies to reduce the cost of governance and improve quality service delivery.

It will also affect other government departments, agencies as well as parastatals with a view to ensuring effectiveness, functionality and avoid redundancy.

He affirmed that people of proven integrity and hard work will be appointed to man the ministries for enhanced governance that would develop the state.

The statement read;

“The restructure is to realize the rescue mission of Lawals’ administration in the state. The restructuring policy will create more opportunities and provide more jobs for the citizenry and solidify government operations. Our people should also continue to pray for the restoration of peace and tranquillity in the state.”

PO, you do this one, take your flowers. Reducing cost of Governance is now a thing because of you. If you didn't expose the rot during your campaign, all these people would have continued from where the others stopped. I heard that Senator Gbenga Daniels asked his state Government to suspend his pension because he cant be taking salary as a senator and at the same time, pension as a former Governor. All these were happening for decades until PO arrived on the scene.
