The dead corps member was believed to be suffering from epilepsy.
INEC Commissioner in the state, Mr. Kassim Gaidam, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Yola, the state capital, that the incident occurred on Saturday when the affected corps member was registering some voters.
“He died of epilepsy while registering eligible voters,” Gaidam said.
“The deceased had registered more than 1,000 eligible voters within the first two weeks of the exercise.”
“This shows his dedication and commitment to the national assignment,” the INEC Commissioner said.
Gaidam said that the corps member who studied at the Federal University of Technology, Yola, was buried on Saturday in accordance with the Islamic rites.
In a related development, two officers of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps, who were engaged by INEC in the ongoing voter registration in Demsa Local Government Area of the state, had also died from suffocation.
