A Nigerian lady, who has been Identified as Rukkaya Otonye, has publicly reached out for help as she moves to fulfil her dream of relocating abroad for work.
Otonye, who recently applied for and managed to secure her dream job in Finland as an assistant nurse, was, understandably, overjoyed at the prospect of leaving the shores of Nigeria to work. However, the chances of her dream coming true are now hanging in the balance as she has run into serious difficulties.
Otonye, also known as Rukky, explains that she has already gotten her resident permit card approved by the Finnish embassy and has also secured her visa, however, she has failed to secure her flight fare. Without this fare, all her work would all be in vain.
Desperate to see that her dreams do not come crumbling down, she has publicly appealed for help from well-meaning Nigerians
Taking to her Twitter page, she wrote: "Please help me fulfil my dream of relocating and working as an assistant nurse in Finland.
"Hello, well-meaning Nigerians, Please help me. I secured a job in Finland as an assistant nurse. I have my resident permit card approved by the Finnish embassy, but there's a problem.
"I am in urgent need right now. I was able to secure my visa, but I have encountered difficulty in securing my flight fare and some money to get me going for atleast the first 2 months till I am settled in, and a Finnish bank account is setup for me.
"Right now, I require about €2500 to cover my flight fee + upkeep for till I am paid my first salary, which ensures a smooth transition to my living and working in Finland.
"This is the breakdown below.
"Flight: I need to secure a flight from Lagos, Nigeria, to Helsinki. This costs between €1000 to €1200 (1 million to 1.2 million naira).
"I was advised to arrive in Finland with €1500 (approximately 1.5 million Naira) in cash for living expenses until I receive my first salary.
