I THINK THEY SHOULD START PAYING TAX NOT JUST BECAUSE OF THE MONEY BUT TO KEEP A CHECK ON THEIR ATTITUDES TO THE CHURCH MEMBERS AND CONTROL THE RAPID GROWTH OF "FRAUD AND FAKE" CHURCHES IN THE COUNTRY.

What of mosque??
yes ke both should pay becos after all they are also collecting tithe-idamewa from church members and owo adura-prayer money from mosque or muslims @ occasion, and since most of the churches or mosques refuse 2 help the society voluntarily unles government repares the road leading to the area of their churches or mosques they wont do it,so they should also pay as taxes then, becos afterall even in europe some of the churches do pay taxes as well so why not in nigeria now.

I DONT THINK PASTOR IS THE RIGHT WORD HERE BUT CHURCH......YES CHURCHES SHOULD PAY TAX.IT IS NOT CONDEMNED BY SCRIPTURE AND NATURE.IT ALSO CALLS FOR MOSQUE AS WELL.ONE WAY OR THE OTHER THEY ARE CONTRIBUTING TO THE ECONOMY.IF NOT DIRECTLY THEN DEFINITELY INDIRECTLY...............

Don't say what you don't know!. Churches, just like charitable organisations, don't pay tax in Europe! In the Nigerian context, I think they should pay tax given the lucrative business it has become, especially those that attract a huge following and thier pastors living like kings.

Honestly they must pay tax, becuase churches are now made as a business organisation and come to tink of it all every members of the church / business organisation are going to be responsible in paying the tax mean why, the pastor are not going to take out of their own account to pay the tax.
