Nigeria to commence Islamic banking soon – Sanusi

Abuja-The CBN governor, Mr Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, on Thursday in Abuja said that that Islamic banking would soon begin in Nigeria.

Sanusi said this at an award dinner to mark the 20th anniversary of the Abuja Muslim Forum.

He noted that the non-interest banking system will help improve and develop the nation’s economy .



According to him, other countries such as the United Kingdom and South Africa are already successfully operating the system.

He called on Nigerians to help make the project a success.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Sanusi was one of the recipients of the Forum’s award.

Earlier, the Amir, Abuja Muslim Forum, Mr Musa Aliyu, said the award was meant to recognise and celebrate Muslims who have contributed to the development of Islam and the nation.

Other recipients of the award include the Minister for Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Rufa’I and some Islamic scholars and public servants.

The event was attended by Islamic scholars, public servants, students, NGOs and religious organisations

The forum was established in 1991 with the aim of enhancing unity, education and promotion of the welfare of Muslims. (NAN)

Sanusi has being trying in sanitasing nigeria financial sector, he mentioned a lot about the 2011 budget and said almost the 1/3 of the budget was manily for legislative arm of government which he nocked headed to approve, and  the legislator frightened him to do an appology on the issue which he said no,
 such a man with DORA, AND LAGOS STATE governor re gud to be the president of the nation not saying we dont have hope on GEJ but
 considering the impact they have  putting in their sectors, they re gud

You should have, as well commence Christain's bank to balance the Economics growth too. without that nothing as done well, without 50/50 ok.

HOW DID IT COVERED LIFE? WHERE THEY DON'T HAVE RESPECT OF PEOPLE WHO ARE BEEN CREATED BY GOD, LOOK AT THE WAY THEIR ARE KILLING PEOPLE EVERY COUNTRY THAT ARE MUSLIMS IN THE WORLD TODAY IF THEY ARE NOT KILLING THEMSELVES FOR WHO WILL RULE THE COUNTRY, THEY WILL BE KILLING INNOCENT CHRISTAINS OUT OF JEALIOUSNESS.

NIGERIAN GOVERNMENTS JUST BE EMPHYSIS ON BANK, WHERE IS THIS HELPING THE CITIZEN, SANUSI SHOULD AS WELL TELL THE GOVERNMENTS TO CREAT MORE FACTORIES AND RENOVATE THE DEATH OLD ONCE THAT WAS ESTABLISHED BY BRISTAIN SINCE THEY LEFT THE COUNTRY, WHEN NIGERIAN GOVERNMENTS CAN'T BOST OF THE NEW ONCE SINCE WE FORCE OURSELVES INDEPENDENT.

am sory am not anit-islam, but there is supposed to be separation of church and state, which means no religion should be held above another. The muslims are taking us for mumus and slowly taking control of nigeria, best way to take over a country, through it wealth. You guys stay there and keep saying its for the best,rubbish .
