Nigerian rap artist, known by the moniker "Odumodublack.", has firmly stated that no single musician can claim credit for paving the path for the likes of Wizkid, Burna Boy, or any other artist.
Recent remarks made by veteran singer Eedris Abdulkareem in a podcast interview, where he asserted paving the way for Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid, were met with disagreement by Odumodublack.
Odumodublack. dismissed such assertions as attempts to appropriate divine credit, emphasizing that it was the relentless dedication and resolve of artists like Wizkid and Burna Boy that propelled them to success.
The artist behind the hit track "Declan Rice" underscored that while artists can certainly inspire each other, ultimate success is a result of divine intervention.
Expressing his views on a social media platform, Odumodublack. posted: "Everyone's claiming to pave the way. Everyone's attempting to snatch God's glory. None of you individuals cleared the path for anyone.
"Nobody cleared the way for Wizkid or Burna [Boy]. They labored tirelessly. Each of us faces our own distinct struggles and realities.
"Inspiration? Absolutely. Paving the way? That's God's work.
No human being in the annals of music history has cleared the path for T.O.. That's God's doing. So, let no self-proclaimed 'OG' come forward tomorrow claiming credit for paving the way for me, because, my friend, you weren't present during my journey! Thus, remain silent, please."
