A military personnel attached to Operation Delta Safe (OPDS) headquarters in Bayelsa State met a tragic end on Thursday in a fatal road accident along the Uyo-Bori-Onne route in Rivers State. The incident also left four others critically injured, with severe injuries including severed body parts.
Reports gathered by DAILY POST indicate that the accident occurred while the convoy of OPDS Commander, Rear Admiral John Okeke, was returning from a visit to Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State.
The convoy, comprising personnel from the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Navy, reportedly encountered the accident due to factors including a bad road, speeding, and driver fatigue.
