
A group under the umbrella of Concerned Southern Borno Citizens has called on President Bola Tinubu the All Progress Congress (APC), and the Senate to reverse their decision on the sacked of Senator Mohammed Ndume as the Chief Whip of the Senate.
The group which consists of youth clubs and Associates in Borno State in solidarity with Senator Ndume over his Stand in an interview on Arise TV
Addressing Journalists at a Press Briefing held at the NUJ Press Centre, Maiduguri on Tuesday, the National Chairman of the CSBC said “We are calling on the APC National Working Committee to reconsider its decision to remove Senator Muh’d Ali Ndume as Chief Whip and withdraw his APC membership.”
It would be recalled that Senator Ndume was interviewed on Arise TV on July 12, 2024, discussing hardships faced by Nigerian citizens, limited access to President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, and recent government policies.
The group who praises President Tinubu for recognizing Senator Ndume’s capacity and worth by appointing him as Majority Chief Whip said that Senator Ndume has done much good for society and the people of Southern Borno and Borno State, mentoring thousands of youth and supporting education.
The group stated that the APC’s action is unacceptable and disrespects Senator Ndume’s contributions, also threatening unity within the party.
Comrade Sawa said the Southern Borno Citizen passed a vote of confidence in Senator Ndume and requested President Tinubu and the APC National Working Committee to reconsider their decision.
“We pledge full support to Senator Ndume and trust that President Tinubu will consider their request and make a decision reflecting the determination and welfare of the youth and people of Borno State”, the group added.
