
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 38-year-old man, Okafor Ifeanyi Anthony, for drug trafficking at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano. The suspect was caught on Sunday, September 15, 2024, while attempting to board a Qatar Airways flight to Iran via Doha, with 76 pellets of cocaine hidden in his stomach.
According to a statement released by NDLEA Director of Media & Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, the suspect was placed under observation for three days after his arrest. During this period, he excreted 76 pellets of cocaine, weighing a total of 1.267 kilograms.
The NDLEA continues to intensify efforts to combat drug trafficking and smuggling operations across Nigerian airports.
