A young Nigerian woman has taken to social media to share her frustrations over her long-distance relationship with a partner who relocated to Canada, citing years of unmet promises and uncertainty about their future together.
The woman, known as @kaybee_ng on TikTok, recounted that her boyfriend left for Canada shortly after they started dating over three years ago, with plans to marry upon his return. However, as each year passes, he repeatedly asks for “more time,” leaving her feeling unable to move forward with her life.
In her post, she expressed the emotional toll of waiting indefinitely. “I’m not even getting any younger, and all he keeps saying is ‘Give me more time,’” she wrote. She revealed that despite other serious suitors who have shown interest in her, she feels “stuck” due to her earlier promises to wait for him.
Reflecting on her dilemma, she said, “I would never have made promises to wait… I’d never make a promise to any man again in my life.” She went on to share how each December, her partner pledges to return, only to delay with new excuses. Now, with another December approaching, she questions whether to continue waiting.
Her candid post sparked discussion online, with many viewers weighing in on the challenges of long-distance relationships and offering advice on moving forward.
