Tricia Eseigbe
Could you tell us a bit about yourself?

My name is Tricia Eseigbe Kerry, a Nigerian from Edo State, the CEO of Treesh Affairs International, an Entertainment Company. I am an Actress / Television Host and a Producer.

Most people in the industry gave up their lucrative jobs to enter into acting. Where you working before you entered into acting? And if yes, do you regret taking that step?

I started Acting after my national youth service. There is no regret in my career choice. God has been faithful to me and I have advanced in my works.

I heard you just finished shooting a Movie, could you please tell us the name of the movie and the story line?

I actually shoot a feature Film / Tele-Movie Titled PRADAH. It is a story about three females in their early to mid thirties. These are; Pradah, a female football national hero, Guchi Rose, a Nollywood Movie actress /activist fighting to emancipate the movie industry, and Vesashe, a Jobless Heavenly bound Christian lawyer dealing with the social virus called S.S.S {SENIOR SISTER SYNDROME}.

All three girls are continuously bullied creating deep psychological effects as they try to advance their careers. S.S.S unknowingly is ravishing our community.

What are the challenges you faced producing and acting in the movie?

I played the role of Pradah, a national female goal keeper, mentally and physically it was challenging. Getting to interpret your character, working with a Director that is very demanding and striving to achieve perfection is hard. Not only that, playing a Goal keeper Character, we had to engage in physical/ fitness exercise and had loads of football training sections. At many times I sustained injuries.

Being a producer, it was difficult to motivate your crew/cast to work in a professional way. Getting your cast to be on set on time and seeing that your crews are doing the right thing isn’t an easy task. In overall, I give God the glory for getting to the other end of the tunnel.

From the cast assembling and from other things I saw about the movie, it seems like an expensive project, could you tell us how expensive it is to shoot a movie like Pradah?

We’re still collating figures for the movie cost. We over shot our original budget. It’s very expensive.

What massage is Pradah passing to the people?

With Pradah, our viewers will be able to see through the lifestyle of their female football heroes, their personal challenges aside the field of play, and life in the national football team camp.

Our viewers will be given an insight into the present state of affairs in Nollywood film industry, the life struggles of the Directors/ Actors/Actress/Marketers, all based on true life stories and our research as told by seasoned Nollywood industry practitioners.

Our people will benefit a lot from Pradah’s Senior Sister Syndrome {S.S.S} storyline. It’s a very educative part of our story laced with detailed research on the mental instability living as an unmarried older sister, and the damage parents and the community cause these older sisters by constantly reminding them of their single status. Pradah is not just a Fiction storyline,  rather it’s a reflection of our community,  and people will find a positive solution to these problems watching the movie Pradah.

How would you describe pradah in comparison to international standard?

Depends on what you mean by international standard, making a movie speaks the same technical application universally, it differs when you look at the storyline/ culture/ artistic attributes. Pradah had a concept that is based in Nigeria and we used some of the best film making Equipment, and worked with experienced director/ Actors, it’s now up to the public/ critic to tell us what they think when the movie is released. The Tele movie bits continue in the U.K though.

I noticed that your husband “Kingsley Kerry” is the Director of the movie, how was it like working with him, so many people do not like the idea of partners working together in the same company?

Working with my Husband was fine because we’re very professional in the execution of our duties. We understand the principles of business, I learnt a lot from him, and it was fun.

Was all the shooting done in Nigeria, since many people prefer shooting in Ghana these days?

It was shot in Nigeria, because that is the settling of my storyline

What inspired you to do the movie?

First, God inspired me to do this movie. And looking at the state of female football, Nollywood and the stress unmarried older Girls living with S.S syndrome go through, I got inspired to educate our people by making this movie.

Do you see Pradah winning an award?

With God all things are possible. I am very positive about the movie.

For a while now, I have been talking with Nollywood Stars about the issue of many divorces in the industry, so tell us the secret of the success of your marriage?

Divorces are not associated  to Nollywood alone. it’s a human issue that can affect anyone / profession. My marriage is still young and there is no secret.  We’re learning by the day and we’re  grateful to God for keeping us together.

Tricia Eseigbe and Kingsley Kerry
Many people find it difficult keeping distance relationships, and I know that your husband is based in U.K. Is this affecting your marriage in any way?

Distance is of the mind, love can bridge any distance, we spend a lot of time together when we’re not working and it’s perfectly fine by us.

In one of your reports that I read recently, you stated that you kept your relationship secret until the wedding. I must congratulate you for that – but how did you manage to keep that from the Press?

It’s easy because I am a private person and I kept my privacy to myself. I don’t keep a lot of friends, and I decided to keep it as my best secret.

So what advice would you give married couples on how to stay in love?

It’s a big question because I am still learning myself. I can only say Respect each other and be patient in times of adversity. Most of all, be prayerful because I know the devil does not like good things.

Being a Producer of Bold faces and Celebrity eyes – which I believe are time consuming – how do you still find time to shoot a movie and still manage your home well?

The things that I do and What happens to me, it’s beyond human understanding. So I always give God the credit for my life/ achievements. I am also a very focused and hardworking person. I set out goals and time table for  achieving them.

Do we have any hope of seeing more of your movies in the future?

By his Grace Pradah will be the first of many movies that will be produced by me.

Is Pradah in the Cinema now? And how soon is it getting into the market?

Pradah will be in cinemas around the Easter festive period, and will be released/ Distributed in DVD after showing in the Cinemas.

Sometime ago I heard of your rivalry with Oby Edozieh, is that still on?

Oby and I are friends. It’s a stale story that was hyped unnecessarily.

How challenging is  being a successful woman in Nollywood?

Success does come with its challenges. Sometimes people expect too much from you. And when you cannot meet up with their demands, they form all sort of opinions about you – overall I am coping well.

What will you tell the people who want to be in the same field?

They are very welcome. It’s not all about stardom and success. It requires a lot of hardwork and humility to stay at the top.

You are a very creative woman I must say. Are we expecting any new project from you this year?

There’s no end to creativity. I am working on new ideas. I like to keep re-inventing myself. Hopefully I will release another work this year Titled “Living Celeb” and   “The Gloves”. Watch this space.

Will you be visiting Europe this year?

I regularly visit Europe for Business and to spend time with my Family. We will do more of that this year – including the Premiere of Pradah.

Is there anything I didn’t cover that you’ll like to add?

I guess u covered enough. Thank and God bless.

NOLLYWOODGOSSIP  is wishing you success with pradah and many other projects you have at hand.

Thanks
