jumbo or jombo whatever her name is doesn't have a life! where was she in those days when the likes of antar laniyan, jide kosoko, oga bello, saheed balogun, funsho adeolu e.tc. were acting purely english movies in nigeria? then she was still in obscurity, by then she hasn't dreamed of acting let alone acting itself, the igbos marketers because of inferiority to the yoruba actors and the fear that the yoruba actors are real, core professionals who were trained by people like albert ogunde, duroladipo, ogunmola, ade love 'afolayan" of late and may dominate the english films in nigeria, they, the igbo marketers monopolized the english part of the industry. furthermore, in english movies they act fetish as well, so many of their films are shrine natured, occultism like.  tell her to go to u.s, u.k and other european countries, yoruba movies are very many out there, i don't know where she got her un-researched final judgment from. let her value what has because "teniteni tekisa tatan" .

any way it depends  on the movie u want to watch, call it  yoruba, igbo
and malam movies, all re welcomed but one thing is  clear,if an actor com producer
want to engaged in a production, should determine what level he need the movie to go
and i know no producer would like to do a work that wouldnt sale , so be wise

Whether English, Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa film. Its all one Nigeria...

Very true dear. But in order to make more money for the industry and the actors/crew, they should cater for both local and international markets. By that I mean produce them in both local and english versions.
gbam, igbo,mallam, yoruba version

according to her(uche jumbo), she has never watched any yoruba movie, so how can she claim all yoruba movies are fetish? thats an over statement and tribalistic. for those who understand yoruba and for those who can read subtitles, yoruba movies are entertaining and generally have better storylines than the other so-called nollywood movies. anyone who has watched a yoruba movie before can testify to this
yoruba beating/band is gud in music, never like some yoruba movies cos its too wowo the way the use to dress

yoruba movies did not go beyound Nigeria but English movies is all over the world, so yoruba actors and actress should stop making unecessary noise becos there is no way they can compare youruba movies to English movies.there is a big difference, English movies is the best not Yoruba, local movies, apart from Yoruba people, is only few Nigerains that can watch yoruba movies, is not every body that is interested in watching their movies.
lots of non yorubas watch Yoruba movies, in case you haven't noticed thats what subtitles are for

SHE VERY STUPID, TO SAY YORUBA IS NOT INTERNATIONALLY ACCEPTED. AM SURE SHE WOULD HAVE SEEN SOME AMERICAN MOVIES WHERE YORUBA WAS SPEAKING IN THE MOVIES NOT 1 AND NOT 2 , IS EGNLISH YOUR FATHER LANGUAGE. WHY CANT YOU BE PROUND OF YOUR DAILET. YOU CAN ONLY PROMOTE YOUR LANGUAGE BY USING IT IN A PUBLIC PLACES. AND MIND YOU INDIAN,SPANISH AND FRENCH SPEAKS THIER LANGUAGE IN THIER MOVIES SO WHY ARE YOU STUPID IN PROMOTING ANOTHER MANS LANGUAGE AND NOT YOURS. IF YOU MOST KNOW YORUBA ALONE HAS MORE THAN 200 PEOPLE WORLD WIDE. AND YORUBAS ARE ATLANTIS. VERY HISTORICAL TRIBE IN THE WORLD. SO WHAT DO YOU THINK. AND HOW MANY MOVIES HAVE DONE THAT MAKE ANY SENSE NONE.

WHAT LANGUAGE IS YOURS IF I MAY ASK? IS IT THE ONE THAT ONLY YOU CAN SPEAK AND UNDERSTAND? WHY WOULDN'T YOU PEOPLE LIKE YOU BE REALISTIC FOR ONCE Huh? TALKING ABOUT OTHER COUNTRIES MOVIES YES THEY USE THEIR LANGUAGES IN THEIR MOVIES SIMPLY BECAUSE THEIR LANGUAGES ARE INTERNATIONAL.

FRENCH? YES ALLOTS OF EUROPEAN COUNTRIES SPEAKS AND UNDERSTAND FRENCH, SO IS GOOD USING IT IN A MOVIE.

SPANISH? YES ALL THE LATIN AMERICANS SPEAKS AND UNDERSTAND IT TOO, EVEN SOME COUNTRIES IN EUROPE LIKE SPAIN.
AND THOSE MOVIES HAS MEANINGS AND TEACHINGS IN IT AS WELL.

SO WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT HERE?

YERUBA MOVIES WOULD HAVE BEEN OK ONLY IF THEY USE ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND FOR THE COMEDY ONES ALONE.
NOT ALL THESE JUJU JUJU SHIT ALL OVER.........
stop being tribalistic. is Hindi an international  language? yet i'm sure you watched indian movies. thats what subtitles are for

Movies represent art and in art one has to be open to all different interpretations.  To say one type of movie is better than the other is foolishness.  I watch movies for a story, to be transported to a different place.  The majority of movie lovers are simply open to good story, if it's  Yoruba, English, Korean, Swedish, American or whatever, all movie goers care about is a good story from scripting, acting, directing, producing excellence at every level.  To say there is no place globally for Yoruba movies is also foolish, if the producers subtitle the movies properly they can be just as successful as the English Nigerian films.  At the end of the day Uche's opinion is her own and not gospel.
