The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended four men in possession of 45 kilograms of cannabis. The suspects—identified as Usman Sani, 25; Abdul Mohd, 28; Bunu Ali, 27; and Umar Musa, 30—were arrested on Tuesday, November 19, at Gadar Tamburawa along the Zaria-Kano road.
According to Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, operatives intercepted the group with 100 blocks of cannabis, each weighing approximately 450 grams. Babafemi noted that the arrests form part of ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the area.
The suspects are now in custody, facing charges related to illegal drug possession and distribution. The NDLEA has reiterated its commitment to intensifying surveillance on major routes notorious for drug trafficking as part of its broader anti-narcotics operations nationwide.
