Nollywood star Funke Akindele has set a new milestone with her latest movie, *Everybody Loves Jennifer (ELJ)*, which grossed ₦45.2 million on its opening day, shattering previous records for Nollywood films.
The Nigerian Box Office (NBO) confirmed the groundbreaking achievement on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, highlighting that the film attracted over 9,400 admissions on its first day, surpassing her previous blockbuster, *A Tribe Called Judah (ATCJ)*, which drew 8,870 admissions.
Despite limited screenings at Genesis Cinemas and a delayed start at Silverbird Cinemas, *ELJ* still managed to dominate, with figures excluding earnings from advanced screenings.

the NBO stated, noting that final figures could rise slightly. The movie, which stars top Nollywood talents like Nancy Isime, Bisola Aiyeola, and Stan Nze, has further solidified Akindele's reputation as one of Nigeria's most prolific filmmakers.
This achievement follows Akindele’s remarkable success last year with *A Tribe Called Judah*, which grossed ₦1.4 billion during its run, becoming the first Nollywood film to surpass the ₦1 billion mark.
