Afrobeats icon Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has made waves with his recent purchase of two luxurious mansions in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Each property reportedly cost a whopping N1.2 billion, amounting to an impressive N2.4 billion total. The opulent homes, featuring stunning designs and lavish interiors, have left fans and netizens in awe. Images of the mansions shared online have drawn widespread admiration, with many praising Wizkid’s remarkable achievement.
However, the news sparked mixed reactions. A fan of rival artist Davido, known as @DavidoPolice on X (formerly Twitter), dismissed the acquisition with a snarky comment: “The God who did it for Wizkid should avoid me.”
The comment drew the attention of Ola of Lagos, a renowned real estate promoter, who responded by defending the properties’ immense value. Ola criticized the undue pressure fans often place on celebrities, calling for a more balanced perspective.
“Some people just come online to talk anyhow without thinking that these celebrities are humans too.” Ola of Lagos wrote.
