The January 11, 2025, bandit attack on the Tattara community in Panda District, Karu Local Government Area (LGA) of Nasarawa State has left a trail of tragedy and devastation.
The attackers, in a violent ambush, killed seven individuals and injured many others, catching the residents unprepared.
The attack follows a series of disturbing violence that have taken place in northern states like Kaduna and Katsina. It has made people raise eyebrows on the issue of growing insecurity in the region.
The National Youth Council of Nigeria condemned the attack almost immediately. In a statement signed by its chairman, Dr. Onuk Oji Galadima, he extended deep condolences to the families of victims of the “senseless attack” on innocent citizens.
