The bail decision came after Speed Darlington pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge related to alleged cybercrime.

His lawyer, Marshall Abubakar, had filed the bail application.

The judge, Justice Ekerete Alan outlined strict conditions for the surety, who must be a Level 10 civil servant residing in Abuja.

The surety is required to provide an affidavit of means, and their address must be verified by the court registrar.

Additionally, the surety must either work for the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) or hold a federal government position.

The surety is also required to submit letters of appointment and their most recent promotion, which must be verified by the court’s deputy chief registrar.

Speed Darlington must deposit his international passport and submit two recent passport photographs, along with the surety’s, to the court registrar.

Until the bail conditions are met, the judge ordered that Speed Darlington remain in custody at the Kuje Correctional Centre.

The case is set for trial on March 18, following charges brought against the singer by the Inspector-General of Police for alleged cybercrime.
