The Chairman of the Kano Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, was arrested on Friday, January 24, in connection with an alleged misappropriation of over N4 billion, marking a significant development in a high-profile corruption case.
According to *Daily Trust*, Rimingado was detained at the Zone One Police Headquarters in Kano, where he was interrogated for several hours. He was later granted conditional bail at approximately 11 p.m. but was instructed to report to the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Monday, January 27, for further questioning.
Sources indicate that Rimingado's arrest is linked to the ongoing trial of Bala Muhammed Inuwa, the former Managing Director of the Kano Agricultural Supply Company Limited (KASCO). Inuwa is accused of embezzling public funds in a case that has drawn widespread attention since the trial began in November 2023.
The trial, presided over by Justice Hafsat Yahaya at the Kano High Court, has already resulted in the seizure of assets and funds allegedly connected to the fraud. These include bank account balances and properties, all of which remain under legal review pending the court's final verdict.
The investigation continues to unfold, with Rimingado’s role in the matter now under scrutiny. This arrest adds a new layer of complexity to the case, as anti-corruption agencies intensify efforts to unravel the full extent of the alleged financial misconduct.
