Renowned Nollywood actor John Amaefule has been hospitalized after suffering a stroke, prompting an outpouring of concern from fans and colleagues within the film industry.
The alarming news was disclosed by Nollywood producer Stanley Okereke, who took to Instagram to reveal the actor’s condition and appeal for financial assistance to cover his medical expenses.
According to Okereke, the stroke has impacted the left side of Amaefule’s brain, resulting in right-sided weakness. He is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Owerri, where doctors have recommended several critical tests and medications for his recovery.
In his plea, Okereke urged members of the Nollywood community and the general public to support Amaefule’s medical care. He provided details of the necessary medical procedures and a designated bank account for donations to help offset hospital bills.
“The family is calling on Nigerians to help save his life,” Okereke wrote, emphasizing the urgency of the situation. He further encouraged Nollywood stakeholders to spread awareness and rally support for the ailing actor.
Fans and well-wishers have since expressed their solidarity, sending prayers and messages of support as efforts to secure financial aid for Amaefule continue. Many within the entertainment industry have joined in amplifying the call for assistance, underscoring the need for collective action to aid the beloved actor’s recovery.
