Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Industries Limited, has reassured Nigerians that his refinery has an ample supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to fully meet the country’s fuel demands.
Speaking after a visit by a Zambian government delegation led by the nation’s Minister of Energy, Mr. Makozo Chikote, Dangote emphasized that the refinery is well-stocked with refined petroleum products.
"As we speak right now, we have more than half a billion litres of petroleum and over ₦600 billion worth of products in our storage tanks," he stated.
The business magnate affirmed that the refinery is capable of producing sufficient quantities of gasoline, diesel, and kerosene to cater entirely to Nigeria’s domestic needs.
However, he stressed that the facility is not solely for Nigeria but also for the African market, aligning with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.
"This refinery is not only for Nigeria; it is for Africa. We must sustain the AfCFTA deal and explore trade opportunities with other African countries," Dangote added.
His remarks come amid ongoing efforts to enhance energy security in Nigeria and strengthen regional trade partnerships through increased petroleum production and distribution.
