
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted a drug smuggling attempt by an auto spare parts dealer, Okeke Ebuka Igwe, who allegedly tried to send 1.10kg of cocaine hidden inside vehicle propellers to Angola.
The illicit consignment was discovered at the export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos. According to an official statement from the NDLEA, Igwe was arrested on Monday, February 24, following credible intelligence.
During interrogation, the suspect claimed he was a businessman dealing in auto parts at ASPANDA, Trade Fair Complex in the Ojo area of Lagos. Further investigations are ongoing as authorities intensify efforts to clamp down on drug traffickers using unconventional smuggling methods.
