[b]  No way!  yes, to some extent Nigeria may have lost some of her glory as the Giant of Africa. but if South Africa is to take her position, then she most have done everything Naija don do, not for herself alone but for Africa as a whole.
b4 u pass judgement me think it's necessary we make alist of what the two conutries have done.
for starters............ i know thousands of Nigerian soliders have died in the name  keeping peace. Nigeria has more than 6,500 men keeping the peace outside its borders in places such as Bosnia Herzgovena, Iraq, Kuwait, Western Sahara, Liberia, Angola, Rwanda, Mozambique and Cambodia, The Congo, Chad, Lebanon, India, Pakistan (Kashmir).

Are you just naming the troubled spots of the world or where you know for a fact that Nigeria has peacekeeping troops? While I agree with most of your list, I don't think Nigeria has troops in Iraq, Kuwait, Pakistan (Kashmir) India etc. True, Nigeria has made far more sacrifice to world peace and even the emancipation of the entire Southern Africa subcontinent, including South Africa to black rule.

The South African economy, including the infrastructures, health care, transport system, wildlife, universities  etc,  were built by the previous racist governments with active participation of the West. The South African black township and rural areas are as deprived with huge unemployment and crime rate. There is corruption at top levels of government but not widespread and deep-rooted like Nigeria.

South Africa has the largest economy in Africa, thanks to its gold mines and export orientated strategy with the wisdom to plough back revenue into developing the economy and standard of living for its citizens, unlike Nigeria where leadrship is about looting to build private estates and foreign account with impunity because institutions of state, the judiciary, police etc are themselves corrupt and weak. To conclude, South Africa is the giant - no small thanks to previous white rule!

My sister I agree with you but the truth must be told. Our leaders have brought us shame, poverty and under-development while other countries are busy building the future for their citizens. However I don't agree with those couple. But you know they were bought to appear and say those things. Typical of Nigerian love of money you may say!

you said it all Dan Fulani, let's all be realistic and say it as it is. our government is busy building monuments in abuja, while over 70% of our populace live in the rural areas without portable water, electricity, health care etc. even those in the urban centers rely mostly on alternative sources for their basic amenities. if we only reflect on the image of our country as it is, we definitely would like to be where south africa is today. but one thing remains certain we are abundantly blessed with everything a great nation requires, but our minds are on the superficial "already made" cloths, cars, and all the luxury from other countries instead of harnessing our own and making it our pride rather than just our massive population and vast land.

Giant of Criminal Looting Leaders,i want some one to tell me how many Foreign leaders, like president,Governors or big Business merchants or minsters of other countries has bought or build a mansion, palatial duplex worth of Millions of Dollars in Nigeria or even deposit a cent in any of the banks in Nigeria?

But to our leaders, they take our money meant for developing our country to overseas, build estates, mansions, open big companies abroad, big booming business oversea there by developing other countries and creating job opportunities to foreign citizen when our graduates are at their parents home due to lack of job.

The ex Governor of Imo State Ikedi Ohakim acquire and build the most beautiful, classic ,biggest and digital hostel in South Africa. This hotel has over 100 workers working in there and they are all South African citizens, then tell me how are we Gaint of Africa?

Can Mandela or Obama etc come Nigeria and deposit Money in any of our bank or built an Estate in our country? Our leards are Nothing but bunch of Mistake and disgrace to leader hood.
