Operation Hadin Kai Troops Thwart Terrorists’ Attacks In Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have thwarted a terrorist attack in two locations, Mallam Fatori and Izge community in Borno State, capturing several terrorists in the process.

A statement released on Wednesday by Reuben Kovangiya, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations at the Headquarters, Theatre Command Operation HADIN KAI, revealed that many of the terrorists fled in disarray.

The statement partly reads: “In a resolute effort to deny terrorists freedom of movement and to maintain a peaceful environment for civilians, troops of Operation HADIN KAI stationed at Izge successfully repelled a terrorist attack on their position in the early hours of May 7, 2025. Several insurgents were neutralized, and their combat enablers were captured.”

The statement added, “During the hours-long firefight, the brave troops demonstrated unwavering determination, leading to the neutralisation of several terrorists, while others fled in disarray.”

It, however, noted that “the troops pursued the fleeing terrorists and neutralised over seven of the miscreants while exploitation continued”

The statement listed the recovered items as one motorcycle, ten bicycles, and a PKT automatic machine gun with ammunition belts.

Regarding the second attack, it noted, “Another attempted assault at Mallam Fatori was also successfully repelled, resulting in severe losses for the terrorists.”

The statement urged the troops to intensify their efforts in ensuring a terrorist-free environment.

It added that, “the successful prevention of the attack highlights the troops’ unwavering commitment to decisively eliminate the terrorist threat once and for all.”

Why can't the Commander-in-Chief order an all out war on these terrorists (bandits, hunters, herdsmen) ?
