INEC New 2011 Elections Timetable Release

Sunday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released a new elections timetable after the scheduled National Assembly elections on Saturday 2nd April, 2011 failed to hold due to Logistics problems.

Profesor Jega, the INEC Chairman had earlier postponed the National Assembly elections to Monday 4th April, 2011. But yesterday the election body released another set of election timetable which has further shifted the National Assembly elections to Saturday 9th of April, 2011.

The new timetable is as follows;

National Assembly                           April 9th, 2011
Presidential                                        April 16th, 2011
Governorship/State Assemblies         April 26th, 2011.

The Newspapers are saying Saturday 23rd for Governorship.....which one is correct?

I think the newspapers are wrong.......you cant set an election on Holy Saturday, a day set aside for Xtians to mark the Passion of Christ..........
