DIRK KUYT fired a dramatic injury time penalty as Liverpool all-but ended Arsenal's hopes of winning the Premier League.
And that spot kick came just moments after Robin van Persie had stroked home one of his own.
It was an incredible end to a game that went past 100 minutes after Jamie Carragher was knocked out in the second half by a sickening clash of heads with team-mate John Flanagan.
Van Persie was convinced he had kept his side in the race to topple Manchester United when he fired past Pepe Reina after Cesc Fabregas was fouled by Jay Spearing in the box.
But that joy soon turned to anger as Emmanuel Eboue brought down Lucas and Kuyt smashed the ball past Wojciech Szczesny.
Arsene Wenger and Kenny Dalglish then clashed on the touchline, before the Frenchman confronted referee Andre Marriner at the final whistle.
