Even the scripture confirms it that a sinner will not go unpunished but that is not an indication for us to take law into our hands Reply

I am a lawyer and am in total agreement with @ Hosbert, the lady took the law in her hands ,what she should ve done is to hand him over to the police or allow him go if she wants to forgive him, according to law in Nigeria a suspect is considered innocent until proven guilty by a court of law,in this case the guy wasnt declared guilty by any court so he sure has the right to sue for some compensation,if he hires a good lawyer like me he will surely win his case! He has a right to compensation. He was only a trespasser with burglary intentions but not an armed robber. He was apprehended and should have been handed to the police instead of some murderous foreigner who did not value Nigerian life to take the law into her own hands by attempting murder. Reply

Quote from: hosbert on 3-08-2011 07:59 AM The suspect sure has his rights as enshrined in our constitution. In my understanding, the expatriate resought to self-help when the laws of the land provided punishment for whatever crime the suspect may have committed.Surely, the spinal cord injury and the permenant disability staring the guy on the face would not have been the punishment for his offence under our laws. The man sure deserves a compensation. You are right, try it in canada and you are on your way to jail.
