“We don’t investigate rape cases based on what people put on twitter. When a crime is reported, the DPO must send detectives to investigate the scene of the crime. Up till now have you seen the victim? Have you seen the scene of crime? Have you seen the suspects? It is a very dangerous rumour that must be dismissed by all good meaning Abians and Nigerians” - Bala Hassan, Commissioner of police Abia State

Linda Ikeji replies: What a shame! Not only have we sent the video to the authorities in Abia State, we've also sent a few leads to them...but nobody seems to be interested in doing anything about it...other than releasing press statements and talking bullshit! How can it be a rumour when there's a video? These people are making me so angry!

NA TODAY I KNOW SEY NAIJA NO GET POLICE(security)...common rape dem no fit handle not to even talk about boko haram issue

This is very sad..But unfortunately the Commissioner has a strong point you can not investigate a case where neither the victim nor her relatives have made a complain...So my advise is for the gals family to come out openly and make the cry....

unless everybody in Naija turns to a militant this useless, clawless politician will never stand up for the people. The senator what are they there for if not to fight for the common good of all. It is high time Nigerians take their destiny in their hands, let the NGOs match out, we can for the cause of this one girl bring down this regime. It is possible they have eliminated her to avoid any clue to unravel this otherwise why should Nigerian Police take such a position. if this was Theodore Oji's daughter is this what they will be saying. The mere fact that these bastards insulting the collective will of Nigerians by posting this shameful act on the internet, then all good meaning Nigerians who still believe in the sanctity of the human life must rise up in one accord until these bastards are smoked out no matter who they are or who they are linked to. Enough of this mediocrity in government.

  HERE IS MY OPINION
1. Mr poster, hope your facts are accurate?cos it would be devastating to attach an innocent person to such evil and inhumane act.
2. If these pictures are truly that of the criminals, then it's up to the public to intervene and disclose information of these guys
3. The life of this girl is at danger. Those criminals may go any length to cover up their evil even if it means assassination.
4.It is important for the girl to come forward and speak to the police or any trusted organization to help her build a case and track down those criminals.
5. Going by her conversation in the video, she does not sound too literate. I doubt if she has access to the internet or have any form of awareness to realize that the whole world is aware of her case and willingly to help the best way we can.
6. Her face was is clearly shown in the video, and i'm sure someone would be able to recognize her.
7. Who ever recognizes her, should kindly motivate, counsel and help her speak out to the police. Justice should be served to the criminals.
8.I wish the Nigerian authority can really protect the life of this girl. The Nigerian police have failed us in many instances and i really wish this   case would be an exception. I hope they can say No to bribe, and YES to justice.
If every attempt fails, GOD IS NOT ASLEEP. HE WORKS IN A MYSTERIOUS WAYS. IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME!!

Ok, I don't know who these so called "NPF" people are, but I'm guessing they are a big deal of some sort. If this is what they have to say, then I will say again that I'm still so very sorry for Nigeria. Imagine what the governor of Abia State said about the rape; that such "an inglorious act" did not happen in Abia. Who gives a damn whether is happened in Abia, Enugu, Lagos, or whatever!! The point is that IT HAPPENED and it happened in our country so he should have showed som e damn concern or at least said that he would work along with authorities to get to the bottom of it. He didn't even have any proof that it didn't happen in Abia. Such selfish and uncaring people. Time will come!!

Nigerian police are not well trained, but we citizens should not allow them to go free without bringing evils out for the world to see their ignorance. However, the victim should by all means come out  to report crime.  That kind of crime is not to be protected, although victims identity can be protected. Police should be hold accountable if these kind crime go scot free.  I hope the elected Governor is listening to the concerns of people and what is happening in his State University on his watch.
