MANCHESTER United goalkeeper David de Gea has been caught red handed in Altrincham - stealing a doughnut.
The 20-year-old Spanish player, who earns around £70,000 a week, was spotted on CCTV taking a doughnut from a Krispy Kreme display cabinet in Tesco’s Manor Road store at around 10pm on Wednesday September 28.
But instead of paying for the sweet treat, which would cost between £1.19 and £1.55, the player ate it in the aisles.
Security staff, who had noticed the famous player when he entered the store, spotted de Gea heading towards the exit without paying for the doughnut and stopped him.
A member of staff who speaks Spanish helped question him and a decision was made to bar him from the store for three months.
No further action was taken and the police were not called.
A source told Messenger: “They were umming and aahing about whether to call the police or not and decided not to but gave him a three-month ban at the store.
“He was quite brazen, walking about the store eating it and was about to leave.”
Manchester United, who signed de Gea from Atletico Madrid in the summer for £18.3m, refused to comment on the issue.
A Tesco spokesperson told Messenger: "A customer was spoken to by our security team and the issue was resolved."
Tesco staff at the Altrincham store have been told not to discuss the issue and Messenger was told that one staff member who mentioned the incident on Facebook had been suspended from the store.
A spokesperson for the supermarket giant said they would not discuss individual personnel matters.

Actually he wanted to pay for the doughnut when he realized he had not his wallet with hom on attempting to go and pick it up in his car,then the security men thought he was about to leave....on a normal day,he is above the price not to pay for it

poster u shud learn how to read and understand b4 posting. the guy explained that he was with his frnd and they were very hungry so he went into the supermarket forgetting his wallet in the car so he picked the doughnut and ate it den they took more things that they will be paying for, so he went out in other to go to the car to get his wallet so the security stopped him and as the result of not being fluent in english, the security man misunderstood him not until a Spaniard lady who understand's english explained to the security man. ask WWW.GOOGLE.COM for more info tnx.

For the poster, U are crazy for dis useless info. for u dat comment without using ur common sense, u ar mad. its not a news any longer and it has been cleared. He went there 2 buy alot of things but was very hungry and decided just 2 buy doughnut first forgetting that his wallet is in his expensive car which dis useless poster can never afford in his lifetime. His english is not good enough to explain these as he hasnt use up to 6 months in England. It was a lady who understood spainish language that later came 2 rescue him from d language problem. It is even funny 2 him cos he never can do such a thing. IMPOSSIBLE!!!
