Of course not. And while that is a reality...Nigeria will remain in the position it is currently in for a long time until something progressive ensues......

LOLOL you are kidding right? He isn't doing anything of the sort. The lawmakers are doing a fine enough job on their own destroying the nation. Why bother attempting to give him any credit? Throw those hateful words out there all you want..the fact still remains that Nigeria is a big contradiction in pushing forth a values system that talks about looking out for one another..and those in power that are to lead by example do nothing remotely near that...they line their pockets and leave the common man, woman and child to fend for themselves. Give me a break....

I love the outside of the small narrow box thinking present in your response! Great thought process! Very very good points touched on. I agree.

I agree with Wole Soyinka not becuz I think homosegxwality is right or wrong but becuz we pay these govt official to deal with public affairs and spending time or money on creating an enforcing a law like this is pointless. What this law means is that gay people cant get married in Nigeria which is bollocks  cuz they can still get married in other countries, although it wont be recognised legally here. That being said the act of homosegxwality itself hasnt been made illegal so as far as I am concerned this is nothing but smokescreen that makes the lawmakers appear to be more active than they really are. When they start targeting important PUBLIC AFFAIRS issue that will enrich the lives of Nigerians, they can have my respect.

Backward doesn't even begin to do justice. Nigeria will remain stagnant though for a very long time as this go nowhere nonsense keeps up. You're so right!

This is the reason Nigeria is so so far backward, bc we dont like the truth and just want our own selfish ways like ANIMALS.  I am not gay and have a great life here in the U.S.

Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has asked lawmakers in the National Assembly to go back to school in order to clearly understand the difference between public and private affairs.

Professor Soyinka made this statement in response to a bill banning same-sex marriages which was recently passed by the Nigerian Senate.

He said, “The problem with legislators is that they fail to distinguish between personal bills and interventions in private lives.(@prof.wole soyinka, what is your definition for personal bills and interventions in private lives??) That is the problem.(There is not one electron of problem there) I see no reason why they should intervene in the private lives of adults.(You see no reason why they should intervene in the private lives of adults??How hilarious!.i also do not see any reason why people shouldn't commit fraud, sell drugs, child trafficking, etc.its their lives too you know Angry Angry) What people do in their bedrooms is no business of mine.(Yes, its no business of mine either even if people wants to engage in fraud, criminal activities, drugs etc.they are entitled to it and should be left to practice such right??). It should not be the business of legislators.(drug trafficking, prostitutions etc are also, not the business of the lawmakers.let people who want to practice such acts be left to do so,it's their private lives as well)

“But at the same time, I think other countries who are pointing fingers should look inwards and see whether they also do not practise the same kind of discrimination.(do you have the guts and effrontery to confront the west with such question??....)  That is where I disagree,(you disagree?that's somehow ironic, i thought you were in favour of letting these people be??) but I think it is important we learn to distinguish between what is a public affair and what is a private affair.(i also think it's important we learn how not to trample and contradict the terms and laws of nature all in the end to prove what??civilization??liberty??democracy??equality??)

“The legislators need to go back to school to learn the difference before they waste their time with what people do in their private bedrooms.”(you also need to go back to cogitation school of thinking to think deeply before you come out here and waste your i_know_it_all_professor_knowledge to profess CODSWALLOP..Honestly speaking,am so ashamed of you)
same sex marriage act is something that concerns the Nigerian govt and you sure the hell do not expect them to give a cold shoulder to the issue simply because Nigeria has other ills like epileptic electricity, stagnant economy, bribery and corruption etc to attend to...same sex marriage is one of the many issues affecting any nation of the world so why ignore it Mr professor??
i hope your brain capacity to reason and think at will is not starting to erode you??i can understand you are now a senile! (just curious).

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT HIM AND THE GUY THAT IS WITH HIM

A country that borrowed money to fight war that is not justified, terrorize other nations in their own land. At the moment, US is owing more than 100 trillions dollars, their economy is one of the worst, high rate of unemployment. Gone are the days when US was God's own country as they previously claimed. Now, US is where devil dictate the pace of the day. Nothing good is coming out from there, they are living on past glory.

Nigeria at a glance what do you see,

1.  Corrupt and Greedy Leaders who's duty is to fly our money to oversea for their own selfish interest.

2.  No Job for our graduates after spending several years at the University

3.  Our roads are very bad there by causing unnecessary accidents and lost of life of the citizens

4. Our Power sector is dead.

5. All the whole industry in Our country  exist no more.

6. Agriculture which we are known for,is dead.

7. Water sector is now history

8. Boko Haram issue everyday,

9. Religious crisis and killing everyday,

10.  Our Educational system is gradually collapsing with every year ASSU AND NASSU strike. Our citizens now go to Ghana to study
paying exorbitantly.

Upon all these problems in our Country, this evil Genius called Soyinka, could not even suggest or help to tackle the law makers
to handle at least One of these problems we are facing in that country, and all he could do was to stand in public /before the law makers and start debating on phyukK.

And no be say na better phyuk ohh  but usless phyukk were man go de phyukk man and woman go dey phyukk woman even get married if they want.

This man is a wasted resources!
