Hafiz Ringim is, effective immediately, the former Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force. After he was given the red card by President Goodluck Jonathan during a brief meeting on Tuesday, Ringim tendered his resignation letter to the federal government today (Wednesday).
All the Six DIGs in the Force Headquarters were... also affected. The new IG is M.D. Abubakar, former Lagos State Commissioner of Police.
The DIGs who left with Ringim are: Mrs. Ivy Okoronkwo, Second in Command (2i/c); Mr. Azubuko Udah DIG “A” (Administration); Audu Abubakar DIG “B” (Operations); Saleh Abubakar DIG “C” (Logistics and Supply); Alhaji Sardauna Abubakar DIG “E” (Training); and Mohammed Yesufu DIG “F” (Management Services).
