He said this yesterday in Abuja when he visited the Minister of state for Trade and Investment, Dr Samuel Ortom.Lillerud said that though he does not have the tonnage of fish that gets to Nigeria, there are three categories with stock fish taking the lead.
He said the statistics of the export figure from Nigeria to his country is not so good, adding that there are few Norwegian oil companies that are doing businesses in Nigeria.
He said that his country which is the third or fourth largest exporter of oil and gas in the world, will want to establish a bilateral relationship with Nigeria in the area of energy which include oil and gas and hydro power.
Speaking, the Minister said that the ministry is a new initiative of government to help drive the country's economy through the organized private sector.
He said: "We have experimented for the past 50 years and seen that there is the need to work in partnership with the organized private sector to ensure that we develop our economy. Nigeria is endowed with a lot of natural and human resources and we are not an island. We need partners not just in Nigeria but from outside like Norway.
"I want to encourage you that there are a lot of incentives that are available at this very time, we have opened up and we are inviting foreign investors to come and invest and the Ministry of Trade and Investment will provide the enabling environment and conducive atmosphere for all intending investors to come in."
