What's with ppl who change their traditional names to something else to sound different. It always cracks me up, the best so far for me was "Kelechi" to KC / Casey lol , have you people heard any ? please share o !

well some just changed it to total different name...i know a few...an example will be one of my friend and his name is David Ikechukwu and he is known as Brown......
Sometimes too is others that will change their name to something else, especially if they can't pronounce it..they'll shorten it to something thats easy for them..

lol.....but shorten naija names is essential when u are living overseas.....i use Myra coz its easier for them to pronounce...furthermore oyinbos spoilt the goodness of a nigerian name when they pronounce it as they wish....just look at Chikiezie from American Idol...Simon make his name sound like a snack cracker.....

i don't find shortening nigerian names a problem.....it just make things easier for oyinbos and chinkos to pronounce our name somehow and not make fun of it...but what i don't understand is nigerians who changed their name to a totally different thing......
