The Nigerian Police in Lagos State have arraigned one Victor Idongesit, a 24-year-old jobless Lagosian before Apapa Magistrate Court, Lagos, after he made a shocking revelation to his neighbour, Mr. Stanley Anebor, 48, about his wife’s pregnancy and allegedly stabbed the man during a fight.
Victor, who hails from Akwa Ibom State, reportedly told Mr. Stanley who hails from Edo state that he was actually responsible for his wife’s pregnancy because he had sex with her several times before she became pregnant.
The revelation threw the husband off balance because Victor said it publicly and in the presence of his wife.
The incident happened at 31, Olowonsun Street, Olodi Apapa, Lagos where both of them reside. This resulted in both fighting publicly and in the process Victor stabbed Mr. Stanley.
It was not certain why Victor broke the news in the presence of the man’s wife. But it was gathered that Mr. Stanley goes to work early and returns late in the evening, while Victor and his wife were always around in the house.
According to court documents, Victor has been charged with conduct likely to breach public peace and assault under sections 166 and 171 of the criminal code laws of Lagos state of Nigeria 2011.
Mr. Stanley disclosed that Victor confronted him in public and told him he should not brag with his wife because he too has access to her as well.
Victor pleaded not not guilty to the two charges read to him. The presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.I. Adelaja granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with one suirety in like sum. And the matter was adjourned till April 23 for trial.
