A 40-year-old mother of five, Taiwo Adenuga, on Monday told a Grade ‘B’ Customary Court sitting in Oshodi, Lagos that her husband, Adeniyi Adenuga, sent her away from their matrimonial home because she fought his lover.
Taiwo, who dragged Adeniyi to court, accused him of dating a single mother identified simply as Patience.
Taiwo said, “My husband practically abandoned and relegated me to the background since he started his love escapades with Patience in 2010. Whenever I ask him for money, he wouldn’t give me but will rather give to Patience even in my presence. He is always with patience. I see them together, arms on each other’s shoulder on the street. She is all he cares for and he has never given me a clear explanation of things.”
Taiwo said she fought Patience when she refused to stay clear of her husband after warning her several times. When all efforts to win back my husband proved abortive, I openly confronted Patience and beat her up.
“When Adeniyi learnt that I beat up Patience, he got angry with me and beat me up. He also locked me and our children out for two nights.”
She said though he had allowed their five children – two pairs of twins and another- into the home, he had refused to let her in.
But, Adeniyi, a technician, who admitted beating Taiwo said she was just being unnecessarily jealous.
He said, “I have told her on many occasions that I’m not dating Patience.I was only lending a helping hand to her because she is a single mother.
“The time I gave Patience money and I refused to give to her was when Patience’s child was sick and I had to assist her with the little money on me.”
Adeniyi told the court that he was also tired of the relationship as his wife was troublesome and jealous. He urged the court to dissolve the union.
The Acting Court President, Mrs. R.I. Adetola, scolded Adeniyi for locking his children outside because of a disagreement between him and his wife.
The case was adjourned till May 28 for further hearing.

Stupid fool, you can't give your wife but you can give Patience bc her child is sick, and you are asking the court to end the marriage to have easy asses to your patience. Oke nkpi.

I wonder the kind of a helping hand you would be giving to a single mother when you have wife and children at home. He might be a man but he's not a father and a husband.
