The former Liberian president Charles Taylor for war crimes has been sentenced to 50 years in prison. The Special Court for Sierra Leone in the city of Leidschendam near The Hague, of the Netherlands (Holland) announced the sentence, after Taylor on 26 April 2012 was found guilty of the war crimes charges. The Board unanimously condemn Taylor to 50 years in prison, so announced by Judge, Richard Lussick.
It is defined that the offender planned "most hateful crimes in human history" and therefore responsible, Lussick said. Taylor dressed in a black suit, accepted the verdict with his eyes completely closed.
He was at the international tribunal because he was found guilty of having supported as President of Liberia the civil war in neighboring Sierra Leone's rebel Revolutionary United Front in order to enrich themselves with so-called blood diamonds and money laundry. From German Yahoo News Today
