Success depends almost totally on decisions. Your decisions. The quality and timeliness of your decisions.
Sam Walton, the late billionaire once said, "I never make decisions about investing in a company for where it will be eighteen months from now. I always ask myself where the company will actually be in ten years".
He thought Long term.
That's how to determine the depth of wisdom you contain: How far ahead do you think? How far ahead do you plan? The wiser you are, the farther ahead you plan...and you make decisions based on long term rather than short term.
All losers have one common denominator and thread running through their lives. They make short-term decisions.
Decision making is an emotional current and moment. Many heartaches and tragedies in life can be traced to a bad decision. Consequently, successful people have found that major decisions should never be made during the following times:
a) When you are too hungry.
b) When you are too angry.
c) When you are too lonely.
d) When you are too tired.
e) When someone unsympathetic to your cause in life controls the deadline or outcome.
f) When you have not considered every consequence of your decision.
g) When you have not considered wise counsel of those qualified to advise you.
h) When you have not invested time in the presence of God.
Most carefully laid plans often have fatal flows that can only be revealed in the presence of God. So, get alone with the Lord and seek His heavenly counsel and advice. Often problems and decisions that have baffled us for hours or days can be cleared up in a matter of minutes by a word from the Lord. Receive grace to make valuable and positive decisions in Jesus Precious Name.
