“I am not even canvassing for Nigerian president. I am saying that an Igbo man should be president in 2015. It matters where the president comes from because all segments of the society had been president.

People continue letting Ndigbo down because they think we were defeated during the war, which is not true.

“And until an Igbo man rules this country, the country will not move anywhere.”

Former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu has been telling all who care to listen that Nigerians must allow an Igbo man to emerge the President in 2015 before this country can make progress.

Kalu, who is the founder of Njiko Igbo, a socio-political group committed to the advancement of Igbo interests in the country, stated this on Thursday while speaking as guest on “Platform”, a Radio Nigeria political programme.

He said the need for a president of Igbo extraction had become imperative because apart from the South-East, all other zones of the country had produced a president.

Kalu insisted that in the interest of equity and fair play, other sections should support the emergence of an Igbo man as president in 2015, claiming that the Igbos were the most populous ethnic group in the country as at today.

that is the simple truth, igbo people can not be ignored whether they like it or not igbo tribe are the most powerful and populated in nigerian today, that is why northerners continue to import
people from nigel republic and chad republic to add to their population. why haven't any body ask why nigerian has not yet have a national identity card in this 21 century to know who is  truly a nigerian and to know the population of every state in nigerian to distribute national resource accordingly.

Igbos should forget about presidency for now and try uniting themselves, we are not united, which political party is the Igbo candidate coming out to contest? Abeg let them close their mouths and allow Jonathan to finish his development program. Vote Jonathan for president 2015!!!!

I personally have nothing against an Ibo man becoming the president of Nigeria yet i feel that the issue of who becomes the President should be something more than tribe (lism).... Nigerians are becoming  wiser and more enlightened that we are not too concerned about the tribe of the man who becomes our President but his his capability..... If Orji Kalu thinks an Ibo has to be the President come 2015 what he and his campaign team should do is to look for an Ibo man whose credibility or acceptability as far Nigeria is concerned is not in doubt and let such a person go for the presidency so that Nigerians can vote for him not because he is an Ibo man but because he has what it takes to give Nigerians a better life.. Votes are not cast for tribes and ethnic groups but for individuals .. There are more than 200 tribes in Nigeria that have not produced a President yet hence i feel Kalu and his campaign team may not realize their goal if campaign is solely built on tribalism...

What did this guy achieve as the governor of Abia State?. Nigeria can't progress
because of corruption, not because of where the president is from.
