Why did he/she leave in the 1st place?

Trust me, nobody could ever advice you on what to do in this situation. It's only you who know him/her.

Search and follow your heart really well. If you still love him/her go for it if not never try going back. If you love to be happy, then think strongly well about how happy you would be if you decide to go back or not. But be careful to find out if he/she meant any good by wanting to come back, you can know this by judging from the circumstances surrounding his/her runaway in the 1st place.
