Lagos was built by the federal government using the oil money from Niger delta . Upon the adoption of Lagos as the headquarters of the southern protectorate and later Nigeria , the federal government massively developed Lagos with national resources. The face of the Lagos of today started after the civil war by the Gowon administration , who massively deployed the oil wealth to develop Lagos . Thereafter saw Lagos as a home for every Nigerian as the present day Abuja is. Please learn to be civil in your contribution in this forum.

According to oral tradition, the first dynasty of the Edo or Benin Kingdom Oranmiyan was the grandson of Oduduwa a fearless warrior that ousted the Ogiso dynasty and conquer Benin Kingdom. Shortly afterwards, the Eweka dynasty was founded by Oranmiyan. Oranmiyan spent some years in Benin before returning to Ife to subsequently establish a Yoruba kingdom at Oyo. It is said that he left Benin (called Ubinu those days) in anger, for its palace intrigues and fights over power caused by the brother of the last Ogiso, as synonymous with 'vexations'. On his way home to Ife, Oranmiyan stopped briefly at Ego, where he impregnated Princess Erimwinde, the daughter of the duke of Ego, in short order. She is then believed to have given birth to a son named Eweka (also called Owomika in bini dialect according to oral tradition). Eweka happens to be the first Oba of Benin, title associated with Yoruba Obas.
