Yesterday in New York City, tennis stars like Serena Williams, Roger Federer, Andre Agassi, Maria Sharapova, Rafael Nadal, Pete Sampras, John McEnroe, Eugenie Bouchard, Madison Keys and Nick Kyrgios gathered in Manhattan for the relaunch of Nike’s Street Tennis event . During the event the tennis stars were asked to recreate Nike’s famous 90s advert… Maria Sharapova, Nadal, Federer, Sampras and Bouchard were positioned at the front and center sitting while Serena was barely visible at the back behind the cab’s open door. What stands out is that a 21 grand slam champion, the number 1 female tennis player in the world was put at the back. She has the most grand slam wins of any one in that photo but was stuck at the back like the help, when players like Bouchard, Keys, Sharapova who can’t even come close to her athletic prowess were positioned front & center. If this isn’t racist behaviour on the part of Nike I don’t know what is.Serena Williams has faced a lot of media abuse from mainstream white media who taunt her for her muscular physique which doesn’t fit the petite, blonde beauty standards being touted by the media.
I scour the world wide web to bring you interesting stories from around the globe. bayonel3@gmailcom

Serena's BEAUTIFUL SKIN COLOUR makes her stand out!
She is a STAR - in every sense of the word. An icon.
Just as some Nigerian men prefer fair skinned black women - so does the world look down on the darker skin. However this DOES NOT stop her determination to succeed. She will be PAID millions for this one advert.
Game, set and match to Serena.

I do not subscribe to this campaign of ignorance. Madison keys is also a black American. Didn't you people see that? This type of lazy journalism is what makes people stereotypical. She is the best female tennis player and she and her management would never allow her to be subjected to racist treatment. So, please let's stop allowing prejudice becloud our sense of judgement. Black, Hispanic, White, Asian, Arabs etc, we're all one
