Nigeria is not an Islamic country but majority are Muslims. Believe me or not, that's the truth.

Take a look at the 2006 census results breakdown, it provides reliable reason to believe that.

Nigeria dose not belong to any religions body.A LL These are colonial cultures forced on us by the Arabs who were the first to reach the blacks and later the Europeans. You all should focus on how the country should be moved forward rather than talking about religion.I always remind you that these so called Islam and Christianity are not for the black people.Five hundred years ago these opium s where injected in us in order to cause hatred and division among the black race .Be careful you zombies and follow follow.

Nigeria has good chance to become muslim country if the slaughtery of christians does not stop.

Most muslim country leaders do not allow progress. They prefer to destroy their own country and their citizens instead to be open.

I think, the miserable situation let ppl wordwide think, it ´s a muslim country only.

@ Teeco

What is ur problem?  See urself, how u r presenting nigerian tongue. Very aggressive and discriminating.

U might have another view of things.  I see it the way i wrote it. For excample iran, irak, somalia, senegal and the hundred other muslim countries r not progressing  cause of their corrupt, violent, wicked and not caring  leaders. They r all punished with muslim leaders, who r not interested in the progress of their country.

Don´t  misunderstand me, i have nothing against  muslims. In general they r living their religion and tradition in peace, beeing hard working and caring like others too.  Iam talking about the bad muslim extremists only.

Nigeria is a muslim country and here is the prof;List of countries by Muslim population
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Map of percentage of Muslim population by country

Islam is the world's second largest religion after Christianity. According to a 2009 demographic study, Islam has 1.57 billion adherents, making up 23% of the world population.[1][2]

Islam is the predominant religion in the Middle East, in northern Africa[3][4], and in some parts of Asia.[5] Large communities of Muslims are also found in China, Eastern Europe, and Russia. Other parts of the world host large Muslim immigrant communities; in Western Europe, for instance, Islam is the second largest religion after Christianity.[6]

Approximately 50 countries are Muslim-majority.[2] Around 62% of the world's Muslims live in Asia, with over 683 million adherents in such countries as Indonesia (the largest Muslim country by population, home to 15.6% of the world's Muslims[7]), Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh.[2][8] About 20% of Muslims live in Arab countries.[9] In the Middle East, the non-Arab countries of Turkey and Iran are the largest Muslim-majority countries; in Africa, Egypt and Nigeria have the most populous Muslim communities.[8]

A demographic study conducted by the Pew Research Center in October 2009[1][2] found that there are 1.57 billion Muslims around the world, accounting for roughly 1 in 4 people. The study found more Muslims in Germany than in Lebanon and more in China than in Syria.[10]

Most Muslims are Sunni (87-90%), while the vast majority of the remainder (10-13%) are Shi'a.[11]
