harold634 at 21-03-2011 07:47 PM (13 years ago) (m) I friend & i was talking this morning and we argued about dis topic. He said it is disrespectful of any wife 2 keep her maiden name after marriage. He said the woman belongs 2 d man & should bear d man's name. What do u guys feel abt dis?
A woman is not a man's commodity and is NOT owned by a MAN!!. A woman belongs to herself and maybe God (If they believe in God). What's in a surname? Do I marry him or his name. His kids can bear his surname... Met tend to overrate this surname nonsense.. I will definitely keep my maiden surname..If needs be, I can have a double barrel surname. God bless u my sista. After my papa suffer train me, one man go come xpect me 2 throway my papa name. Na lie o. MAKE U GO MARRY YOUR PAPA OOOOOOOOOOOOO Posted: at 21-03-2011 07:47 PM (13 years ago) | Gistmaniac

i know what you mean. my sisters married but kept their surname as a middle name, so for example, itohan bassey, becomes itohan bassey-uche. Its important as far as am concerned for kids to have both father and mother's name, because after all they belong to two family coming together. I know definately the guy am dating now if i marry him i immediately take his title as doctor.... so it become Dr. Mrs.......phd, and if he wants he can attach my phd to his name too, so it becomes dr.....engr.phd. At least thats what the law in the state i live in says. If we divorce he can no longer attach my accomplishments to his name, and me vice versa. akibirna at 21-03-2011 08:11 PM (13 years ago) (m) It is not by force for women to change their maiden to their husbands after being llegally married but it is so stupid to consider how your father suffered to support you right from infant up to your matured age. Firstly, sorry to ask, is your mom having your dad´s name or her maiden name? If your mom is having your dad´s name, that means your mom is more civilised than you. Your university education does not really teach you what is right from what is wrong. Posted: at 21-03-2011 08:11 PM (13 years ago) | Newbie
