Quote from: heartofzion on 29-09-2008 02:06 PM First Post here, among many to come. I think the use of racism to describe Femi's victimization might be both fair and unfair. One thing is we are not sure what circumstances led to her sack, then we might want to debacle on why She got another instant appointment in Abuja, seem like there are great legs tho. Well, baring my mind, i dont believe there really exists anything like racism, simply because you cannot devalue somebody thats got more potentials than yourself. That means, you can only attack the physical but not the mind. Unless the attackee endears his or her mind on the physical and material, then the mind becomes vulnerable. the person in question is doing great now, someone Tell her to do something more for the immediate community she is in or I'll start the use of my canes...Talk to y'all soon KEVEE№1٭٭ ٭٭KEVEE№1 Forza In†er... io sono in†eris†a ::1908:: http://inter.it/ (o_O)

there can only be equality in the world when americans allow barak obama to be the president of amarica. Replyfemi oke is only suffering what blacks have been going through around the world. a black has always been a second class citizen in any country not only america. femi oke was trained in britain but was not good enough for the america. why do you think a nigerian trained in nigeria will be preferred.

Barack Obama's possible presidency will do NOTHING to change racism. It is a way of thinking. A black man, no matter how intelligent, becoming president of America wouldn't change an ignorant way of thinking.

I would say this is capitalism and not racism cos obama would soon become the next American president.

Quote from: flint on 27-09-2008 11:34 PM Ya right...We'll neva know de truth by guessing, it could very well be a coincidence that these blacks were fired... coz they are not the only blacks in CNN and they are definitely not the first to get fired, some whites must also have been fired... But come oh, how can U guys even still be talking about RACISM, when our very own BARAK OBAMA is vying for president, and he has a huge number of whites ready and willing to vote for him? his Vice is even a white guy and he beat a white person to get to where he is, Ah guys please forget about racism, not anymore in America... CHEERS ... I agree with U on the CNN issue. However, the fact that Obama is a candidate does not wipe out racism. In fact,he's also being a victim of racism in this campaign.CHEER!

Can CNN race? Reply

Funny how everything gets labeled racism even when we are too distant to really know what took place. Femi Oke was replaced by Aisha Sasay, a fellow black woman and possibly a muslim. Jeff Koinange was an idiot who wrote downright lies about Nigeria and which the Nigeria government rightly protested. We don't know if its because of that they replaced him. Lets not get too sentimental with issues. Femi, in particular, raised a lot of money for CNN in Nigeria and as a business concern, i dont see CNN doing away with her...just like that! I am sure she's doing well where she is today Reply

How can you claim that she was sacked as a result of racism when you have not given us the facts? Grow up man! Reply

If CNN ever fires anyone one the slightest hint of racism it will be sued for millions of dollars. There are thousands of lawyers lurking for such opportunities. Reply

What kinda facts are you looking for... Two other blacks presenter especially those covering African issues were the ones fired..
