Is shouting a form of assault? (Page 5)

For sure is a normal reaction from any good parents in such condition, But shouting at kids all the time is not the proper way, Like some drunk dad's will come home drunk and screaming around the house. The poster didn't point out to us the cause of the shouting, if is something happening regular in that neighbour's house.  But i think one shouting will not make someone to ring up Police, that kind of thing is already unbearable for that teenager that make her to report to police.

It's a very bad thing 2 shout on someone mostly a child dat is still growing up, all u need 2 do is to sit the child down and talk 2 him/her & not shouting on dat child cos nxt time dat child will still repeat dat same thing & he will say afterall hey will only shout on me. (pls is very very bad 2 shout on a child)

that calling police thing is real serious issue.And its becos these kids are being brianwashed  at their school.I mean in school they make them feel no one can talk or say anything to them.My cousin got sent back home to naija by his dad becos of that.and many family i know,do send their kids back home until they turn 20 or so.

You can only see such attitudes from kids born in States, Uk, Aussies etc, is not more rampant in European countries, is mostly all this English speaking countries that spoil kids to that level. Telling them alot in schools and trying to let them know that they got some kind of power and freedom to do some silly things.

If you have energy, you can shout.  I am too old to shout.  Do not need the heart disease that come with it.  Do not need the high blood pressure.  I will shout if I can keep the child out of danger.  If the child do not hear, that is their problem.  I can spank to help the child to grow if they are doing things that are dangerous.  If the child do not hear, that is the child problem.  Will I honor my responsibilities as a parent?  Yes, I will.  I still believe that if you spare the rod, you spoil the child.  The North American kids have gone astray.  Some African parents over abuse the children when they spank them as well.  There needs to be discipline for the parent when disciplining the child.  I have seen parents take baseball bats to their children's head.  Not a good way to discipline.  Try to spank at the bottom where there are fatty tissue.  Do not beat a child, just spank a child on the bum if necessary.  I always find that taking away privileges hurts a child more.  Take away their phones, television, computers, etc., anything that you know that a child considers valuable, take it away from them; that child will work harder to gain those privileges back.  Enough said.
