A Nigerian Twitter user has narrated how the Baàle (Community chief) of a community allegedly demanded the sum of N10m from a hotelier who volunteered to repair a major road damaged in a community.

He tweeted:

“Rain damaged a major road in the area where my parents live. A fella in the community who just built a massive hotel wants to fix it, but the baàle is insisting he brings 10million 1st. Greed and corruption is inherent in Nigerians and it irks me always,”
