Popular Nigerian DJ, DJ Neptune, has raised concerns about the lifestyle choices of some Nigerian artistes, especially those who fail to secure their future during their peak years in the music industry. Speaking as a guest on the Zero Conditions Podcast, Neptune emphasized the importance of financial responsibility and the risks of extravagant spending without long-term foresight.

"Artistes think fame lasts forever, and that’s why many, when they're at the top, don’t save or invest their money,” Neptune shared. He recounted a conversation where someone pointed out that many artistes take advance payments and immediately spend it on luxury cars like Benz. "Is that not your future you are driving?" he reflected, calling it a wake-up call for those in the industry.

Having worked with top stars like Burna Boy and Rema, Neptune highlighted that fame can be fleeting, and without proper financial planning, many artistes risk struggling once their popularity fades. He advised his colleagues to invest wisely while they are still at the top of their game, suggesting property investments or other side income opportunities.

Neptune further noted that only a select few have the grace to sustain their careers for more than a decade. "You’re appealing to a certain age group, and if you don’t know how to adapt and switch, you might lose your way," he warned, urging artistes to think ahead and secure their future before it’s too late.
