Men! when all these kyne news go stop for this country where we dey. We r living in a country where education is regarded as the lowest sector, the govt dont care because their children is schooling abroad, bt what do i have to say, it's a damn shame on the face of this country. We need to grow cos the bible said it's good to be a child but it's bad to remain a child, Naija when u go grow.

Yesterday students shut down OAU and today lecturers have shut down UNIBEN, whos next?

The Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, as well as Non Academic Staff  Union of the University of Benin protested today and shut down the university.

They  closed all the gates leading into the university. The protest resulted in a heavy traffic jam on the Lagos-Benin highway.
The protesters sang songs demanding for the implementation of the salary increase approved by the Federal Government.
A union member, Mr. Kenneth Agbovo, told P.M.NEWS that their leaders were in a meeting with the university authorities, when our correspondent called.

One of the affected staff, Ahmed Domingo, said  they will paralyse the university until their demands are met.
The students who reside outside the campus and pupils of the university staff school could not enter the school this morning as some of them were turned back.

The Public Relations Officer of Uniben Mr. U. Osaretin declined to pick his call.
Yesterday, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Godwin Osayuki Oshodin appealed to aggrieved staff to exercise patience and that all their demands will be met. The plea fell on deaf ears.

It is monstrously perilous when a country is governed by greedy illiterates who are never satisfied with all the stolen wealth acquired, but it is great jeopardy when such illiterate fools have no regards for education and the welfare of their own populace. Above all, it is DOOM, when there is no solidarity amongst the neglected and suffering populace in such nation. The biggest problem in Nigeria is that the people are not only betrayed by their leaders, they are also betrayed by their own people. Where a poor man collects money from a rich man (e.g. a politician) and allows himself to be manipulated, whether he's illiterate or not, and starts to fight or kill a fellow poor man, there will never be solidarity, there will never be a revolution. Where the Student Union leaders seek to collect money from politicians and ignore the purpose of the movement and rather try to manipulate its own student, then there will be no revolution. REVOLUTION NEVER COMES FROM THE GOVERNMENT; IT’S MADE MANIFEST FROM AND BY THE PEOPLE. WHERE THERE IS NO SOLIDARITY, THERE IS NO REVOLUTION. Thus I dare say, that the problem in Nigeria, is not the leaders, but the people.
