Sex education is one topic that has generated so much controversy. In some quarters, sex-education means moral-bankruptcy while some believe that sex education is a panacea to the present day moral decadence. Children nowadays develop so rapidly and their brains are not left out......At a tender age they ask incredible questions which parents at times find it difficult to answer truthfully .........Pals, do u think parents should give their children sex-education? If yes, how should they go about it and at what age do you think it's ideal to start this-especially with the girl-child?

# it’s best to start talking with children about segxwality in early childhood — but it’s never too late.
# Try to be open and available when a child wants to talk.
# Start conversations with "teachable moments".
# Don’t let fear get in the way of talking with your children.

It's best to start as soon as children begin getting segxwal messages. And they start getting them as soon as they're born. Children learn how to think and feel about their bodies and their segxwal behavior from things we do and say — from the way we hold them, talk to them, dress them, teach them the words for their body parts, give them feedback on their behavior, and behave in their presence.

But don't worry if you haven't started yet. It's never too late. Just don't try to "catch up" all at once. The most important thing is to be open and available whenever a child wants to talk.
