@Hosbert.......The question I want to ask you is not a trick question! I just want to understand how you reason and what your idea of words and meanings is!
If am with you and I say "I will come back later" what does this mean?
Does it mean am no longer here with you but will return at a later time or date?
This I ask as most christians are waiting on the coming of Jesus Christ, yet a lot of christians belief he never left he is always around here somewhere!! Help me to understand!!
@Democracy
"I will come back later" can simply and rightly too fit into your conception of the statement. However,Jesus after making that statement did also said that he would not leave christians comfortless remember? The statement you referred to is contained in John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. Jesus went further in verses 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
This succinctly and sufficiently answer your question.I also know that you would like to know if the comforter described in verse 16 of John 14 is Jesus.Yes and I draw your attention to John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Verse 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Also,Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. He(Jesus) is the express image of the Father John 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.Jesus is still here with us.
