i can wait to see children fighting their parents, uncles as they do here (UK). trust me naija children might as well fight the damn that impose the law since its now illegal to treat their mess up. Posted: at 9-07-2011 01:30 AM (12 years ago) | Gistmaniac

ammyjane at 9-07-2011 05:23 AM (12 years ago) (f) Have we all forgotten the old saying "spare the rod and spoil the child". I am a strong advocate for children to be chastised for any of their wrong doings. It is a very good form of correction/discipline please! Posted: at 9-07-2011 05:23 AM (12 years ago) | Upcoming

lanudja at 9-07-2011 08:33 AM (12 years ago) (f) Its an hopeless law...We have more wahala already in d naija lets nt add to it. Lets nt start what we will start regretting later. The bible says foolishness is bound in d heart of a child and is only d rod of correction dat wil drive it out. This is a room to sow more seeds of disrespect in their heart. And again this is Africa ooo, lf we want our children to start fighting and suing Mon & Dad etc like they do in d UK and other places, no problem... bt we shld knw we re Africa. I rest my case. Children should be disciplined when they are at fault. Fashola I disagree with you this time around. Canes would take out the madness and rudeness in children who are rascals and stubborn....

To a great extene,it's a welcome development, but i think even if the children are not to be flogged in school, they shld be allowed to be disciplined at home by parents themself and not uncles or aunt. But then my fears is we may have just given them chance to do as they like nowadays when we have children that are difficult to control. Even the bible says spare the rod and spoil the child.
